Elke is in town

After three months apart my Fiance, Elke came to visit me in Maun. It was amazing to see her after so long. I planned a little Safari for us and it went something like this.

Day one shopping for supplies (I HATE SHOPPING)  in Maun and then we stayed at Discovery BnB up the Thamalakane river.
Day two, our new friends, Noel and Rhonda took us for a boat ride up the Boro river into the Okavango Delta. Thanks guys it was awesome.
Day Three we prepared and packed the vehicle, our trusty Land Rover 110 Tdi.
Day four we drove to Nxai Pan and stayed over.
Day five up Kasane via Nata. day six, fishing on the Chobe river in the morning and a game drive in Chobe national park.
Day seven up to Katima Mulilo in Namibia and overnight on the banks of the Zambezi river.
Day eight travel through the Caprivi Strip, stop at Popa falls and head on through to Shakawe were we popped in to visit Dave and Marina. Overnight at Shakawe Lodge on the banks of the Okavango river.
Day nine travel back to Maun with reports the the bridge Sitatunga had been washed away with the route back to Maun via Gaborone, about an extra 1500Km detour. I found a very sandy route through the bush from the Waga-Waga bridge through to Samedupi, about a 30km detour. Whew, better than 1500km. We stopped and did a bit of fishing Samedupi bridge and then tired and weary we went back to the house in Disaneng.

I will be adding tons of pics to the blog with more detailed stories of each days sightings and activities so be sure to pop in from time to time and take a look
